Affirmations are positive statements about ourselves and our world. Each affirmation can be repeated just once or many times each day. The more often you repeat your affirmation, the more you accept it as true. You can say your affirmation aloud or to yourself.
Affirmations are not magic or strange words. They simply help us replace old negative ways of thinking with positive thoughts. We can’t think two different thoughts at the same time. So why not keep our thoughts on topics that will encourage us to focus on the positive. Affirmations can assist us on our journey to personal and professional growth and development, to finding joy in life.
Some different affirmations include:
I AM SAFE AND SECURE.
EVERYTHING I NEED COMES TO ME AT EXACTLY THE RIGHT TIME.
We will include more affirmations throughout the blog on different days.

NOVO’s name includes the phrase ‘Renewing Joy in Life”. So what does joy in living mean?
Let’s look first at what joy in living doesn’t mean. It’s not skipping around giggling and throwing rose petals all over the place – though I suppose it could include this activity as a response to the feeling of joy in life.
Joy in living means feeling good inside about you and about life no matter what’s going on in the world around you.
This may seem like a tall order with all the scary and sad and cruel things we hear about in the news every day. But that is just the point! The world outside of us has always included scary, sad, and cruel things and likely always will. We can get caught up in the misery and lament ‘woe is me’. Or we can realize the only thing we can control is how we respond to the world around us. I am not advocating following Pollyanna’s philosophy of only seeing the good and happy things or Scarlet O’Hara’s famous statement of not thinking about something unpleasant today but maybe tomorrow. I am saying we can maintain our own strength and a positive perspective – no matter what.
